Description

Published by the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting for England and Wales since 1865 The Law Reports are “the most authoritative reports” and should always be “cited in preference where there is a choice”.

The uniqueness of The Law Reports lies in the fact that they are the only series of reports to include the argument of counsel. They include cases heard in the House of Lords, Privy Council, Court of Appeal (Civil and Criminal Divisions), Queen’s Bench Division, Chancery Division, Family Division, the Employment Appeal Tribunal and the European Court of Justice.

The Law Reports give a fuller treatment to cases reported in volumes 2 and 3 of The Weekly Law Reports, particularly where new principles or rules are introduced, existing rules are modified, or cases which settle or materially settle questions upon which the law is doubtful or vague or which for any reason reform or develop the law.

Separate volumes are produced for the Appeal Cases, Queen’s Bench, and Chancery/Family.

The Consolidated Index dates back to 1951. For more information on subscription options, please call Customer Service on 1300 304 195.
